1. Commitment to Accessibility

JBESH aims to provide an inclusive, accessible, and user-friendly digital environment that enables seamless access to journal information, biomedical research articles, archives, and editorial policies across both desktop and mobile platforms.

Accessibility is a key component of our continuous improvement strategy. We are dedicated to minimizing barriers that may affect access to scientific and healthcare-related knowledge.

2. Accessibility Standard Target

We strive to design and enhance our website in alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

While we aim for full compliance, some legacy content, technical datasets, or third-party materials may not yet fully conform to these standards.

3. Measures We Take

  • Clear heading structures and meaningful page titles
  • Enhanced keyboard navigation and accessible interactive elements
  • Readable typography with appropriate spacing and color contrast
  • Responsive design compatible with multiple devices and screen sizes
  • Improved usability of submission systems, forms, and navigation menus
  • Accessible design for buttons, links, and notifications
  • Continuous encouragement of accessibility best practices in scholarly publishing

4. Accessible Scholarly Content

We encourage authors to prepare manuscripts that follow accessibility-friendly practices, including:

  • Logical and well-structured formatting
  • Descriptive headings and section organization
  • Clear and meaningful hyperlink text
  • Alternative text for images, figures, and non-text elements

However, due to the nature of academic publishing, some content—such as PDFs, medical images, datasets, tables, or externally sourced materials—may have accessibility limitations

5. Known Limitations

Some areas of the website may not yet fully meet accessibility expectations, including:

  • Archived articles and legacy content
  • Complex biomedical figures, datasets, or multimedia elements
  • Third-party tools, plugins, or integrations
  • External documents or linked resources

We are actively working to improve these areas over time.

6. Third-Party Content and Services

Certain features of the journal platform may rely on third-party services such as indexing databases, repositories, analytics tools, or document hosting platforms.

While we strive to use accessible solutions, we do not have full control over the accessibility of third-party content.

7. Feedback, Assistance, and Alternative Access

We welcome feedback regarding accessibility issues. If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the journal website or require assistance, please contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to:

  • Provide accessible alternatives to content
  • Address identified accessibility barriers
  • Guide users to alternative methods of access

8. Review Cycle and Updates

This Accessibility Statement may be updated periodically to reflect improvements in accessibility, updates to web standards, or changes to journal services.

Regular evaluation and testing are part of our commitment to continuous accessibility enhancement.
